Import Operator | Tilbury, Essex
£30,000 to £35,000 per annum DOE
Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm
Permanent office-based position
We are recruiting an experienced Import Operator to join an established freight forwarding company based in Tilbury. This position will focus on deep sea freight, particularly Far East ocean imports. You will manage shipments from arrival through to delivery while providing a reliable service to customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Liaising with customers, shipping lines, hauliers, depots and subcontractors
- Monitoring vessel arrivals and managing import documentation
- Organising collections and deliveries to meet customer deadlines
- Opening internal files and preparing customer invoices
- Processing supplier invoices and resolving discrepancies
- Following up with customers after delivery
The successful candidate will have at least two years’ experience working for a small or medium sized freight forwarder. Previous experience using CNS and Destin8 is essential. You will need excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and a confident working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Own transport is essential due to the company’s location.
