Transport Manager: Brentwood, Essex

Noble Recruiting are working with a fast-paced logistics business in Brentwood, Essex, to recruit an experienced Transport Manager on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a hands-on Transport Manager role covering commercial vehicle compliance, driver management, fleet administration, vehicle maintenance, operator licence requirements, customer delivery standards and day-to-day transport operations.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport operations role, with a strong understanding of driver regulations, transport legislation, compliance, risk assessments and fleet processes.
A valid Transport Manager CPC qualification is essential. Experience as a nominated Transport Manager on an Operator Licence, or previous involvement with FORS accreditation, would be highly advantageous.
- Key Responsibilities
- Managing transport compliance, vehicle files and operator licence requirements
- Overseeing driver documentation, vehicle maintenance, tachographs, tail lifts and tyre contracts
- Supporting driver recruitment, onboarding and interviews
- Working towards Bronze FORS Certification
- Maintaining risk assessments and transport records
- Overseeing PODs, driver paperwork, delivery routes, customer SLAs and KPIs
- Working closely with the warehouse team to ensure customer requirements are met
Requirements
- Previous Transport Manager or senior transport operations experience
- Strong knowledge of transport compliance, driver hours and fleet management
- Transport Manager CPC essential
- FORS experience desirable
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Able to work in a fast paced logistics environment
- Full driving licence and own transport essential due to site location
