Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Basildon
Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 per annum
Noble Recruiting are working with a leading IT business that is looking to hire an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing team in Basildon. This is a hands-on technical delivery role, ideal for someone with strong infrastructure experience who enjoys taking ownership of projects from design through to implementation and handover. You will work across customer projects, internal platform improvements and core infrastructure support within a data centre environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the technical delivery of infrastructure projects from design to handover
- Act as the technical lead on assigned customer projects
- Deliver solutions across compute, storage, networking and virtualisation platforms
- Work closely with customers to understand requirements and provide technical outcomes
- Produce technical documentation, designs and handover materials
- Define project scope and delivery approach with internal stakeholders
- Identify and manage technical risks throughout delivery
- Carry out hands-on engineering work within the data centre
- Support BAU activity across core infrastructure platforms
- Deliver internal infrastructure improvement projects
- Contribute to upgrades, remediation work and platform enhancements
- Support standardisation and technical best practice across the business
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in infrastructure engineering
- Experience delivering infrastructure projects within an MSP or data centre environment
- Good understanding of virtualisation, storage and networking
- Strong technical documentation skills
- Confident communication skills and the ability to work directly with customers
- A hands-on, solutions-focused approach
