If you are interested in developing your career as a Systems/Business Analyst, then this role provides the scope to be involved in all aspects of the project lifecycle. Activities include delivering new capabilities, as well as upgrading and supporting our existing terminal operating systems which encompass a diverse range of operational functions across the company’s various ports and assets.
A key aspect of the role is maintaining our currents systems, deployed across the company, diagnosing problems and then proposing and implementing effective solutions. You will need to quickly learn the Port Operational Systems and demonstrate a logical and thorough approach to problem-solving. Excellent analytical skills are essential.
To be a good analyst, you will need to understand the business and associated processes. The role will involve working in conjunction with operational and admin personnel within the business to solve issues or implement new solutions. You will also be involved in training users in new processes and functionality. Excellent communication skills are therefore essential.
Thorough and professionally formatted documentation is another key feature of the role.
Formal qualifications (preferably to degree level) are expected, however, the focus for this role is on the ‘right individual’ with appropriate disposition, attitude, and aptitude as opposed to relevant experience.
A basic understanding of database design, desktop, and server operating systems and general networking principles would be expected.
You must be able to work additional hours in line with project needs, work from other offices and travel occasionally in line with the needs of the role. IT On-Call roster operates on a weekly rotation of out of hour’s critical support is a requirement and will commence once appropriate familiarisation and training is completed within the first 3 – 6 months.
